The Bears' Blog....June 12

Welcome to the Bears’ Den!  I am so excited to share with you a picture of the new decal we had put into our gym and am looking forward to you being able to see it in person!

Congratulations to Eva in Mrs. Appleby’s Kindergarten class!  Eva is the winner of our Principal’s Pick Writers Wednesday draw for June.  Honorable mentions go out to Katylynn in KB, Owen in 1K, Mac in 1M, Pearl in 2F, James in 3F, Alaina in 3B, Quinley in 5ZS, Megan in 5W, and Josh in 6H.  We are so proud of our Pine Street writers!

As we move into the last week of our online platform, I feel compelled to thank our students and families for staying committed to learning.  Your patience and dedication has been so appreciated by all of the staff at Pine Street.  It is through this strong partnership that we will continue to strive for excellence as we navigate the future together.

Stay safe!  Stay healthy!  Stay connected!

ACTION

  • We will be sending out information on Monday, June 15th for families to sign up to select a time return Chromebooks, iPads, textbooks, library books and home reading materials on June 22 and June 23.  Please email lisa.leitch@eips.ca if you need to make alternate arrangements.  Books can be returned to the bin located outside of the school daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Please do not leave Chromebooks or iPads in the bin.
  • If you are planning to use student transportation in the 2020-21 school year, make sure your child is registered so Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) can plan routes and send your child a bus pass before the first day of school.
    • All students who indicated needing transportation services through the returning student registration process are now registered. Those families have also received tentative route schedules and invoices.
    • For those students who didn’t indicate needing transportation service through the returning student registration process and want to now register, simply contact EIPS Student Transportation at 780-417-8151 or email st@eips.ca. For more information about EIPS Student Transportation visit www.eips.ca/transportation. Throughout the summer, families can pay fees and review credits online using the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
