Family Gatherings

Tea & Bannock Family Gathering at Pine Street

On Thursday, May 4, from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. we are hosting a “Tea and Bannock Evening” at Pine Street Elementary. The gathering is for families of Pine Street’s First Nations, Métis and Inuit students. We are looking forward to seeing you in person and having time to connect.

Jeremy Albert will also be joining us for the evening. Jeremy is one of our FNMI consultants for Elk Island Public Schools. Many of our First Nations, Métis and Inuit students at Pine Street have had the opportunity to meet Jeremy through our monthly smudge ceremonies.

The tea and bannock evening will begin in a circle with introductions, conversation, and an opportunity to ask questions. Then we will explore the Giant Indigenous Floor Map that will be on loan to us next month. Tea and bannock will be served too.
